Avid DS Downloads

This update includes many application enhancements, issue resolutions and updated documentation.

• Avid DS v10.3 is a full installer build. Any previously installed release must be removed before upgrading to Avid DS v10.3.
• Avid DS v10.3 is qualified for conform and ingest operations with Avid Media Composer v4.0.5.

• If you are installing Avid DS on a new hardware system, you will require a new license and will need to fill out the Avid DS License Request form.
• If you have upgraded any hardware on your system, you will require a new license as well.
• Existing systems running Avid DS v10.0, v10.1 or v10.2 can reuse their current licenses but you need to reinstall the license file before running Avid DS v10.3. Also note that customers with a valid support contract are entitled to the Avid DS v10.3 upgrade. If your system DongleID changes and you request a replacement license without a valid support contract by January 2010, you must purchase either support renewal or the upgrade fee.
• If you add one of the supported NVIDIA Quadro FX cards to your workstation or for Avid DS (software-only), you will require a new license to activate the Graphics-Link option.

Important Note: Avid DS Assurance customers upgrading to Avid DS v10.3 through the Download Center are entitled to receive one Avid Media Composer software upgrade license to v4.0.5. The license can be requested by completing the Media Composer section of the Avid DS License Request form. Should you have any immediate Media Composer licensing issues, the software has a built in 30 day trial allowing full control of the software. To resolve the licensing issue, call Avid Customer Success. To expedite resolution, please have your Avid DS system ID and Avid Media Composer system ID/dongle serial number ready.

• The HP xw8600 and Z800 Workstations use Dual-Link video I/O only and does NOT support Avid Symphony in a dual boot configuration.
• The dual boot configurations are only possible on workstations qualified with Avid Nitris (classic) hardware.
• Previous Avid Symphony / Avid DS dual boot customers can upgrade to Avid DS v10.3 as long as the Avid Symphony version is v4.0.5. Verify the dual boot compatibility list on the Avid DS Support Center for updates.
• Versions earlier than v4.0.5 of Avid Symphony (Nitris) are not compatible with Avid DS v10.3 for dual boot configurations.
• There is no specific install order required for dual boot compatibility between Avid DS v10.3 and Avid Symphony v4.0.5.
