Basé sur la nouvelle carte Pro Tools|HD Native PCIe et le logiciel Pro Tools HD, le système complet nécessite une carte core et le logiciel Pro Tools HD, ainsi qu’une interface audio compatible. Il offre la gamme complète de fonctions logicielles Pro Tools HD, jusqu’à 192 pistes audio, et jusqu’à 64 canaux d’E/S utilisant des interfaces HD OMNI, HD MADI et HD I/O, ainsi que les interfaces HD de génération précédente. Contrairement aux systèmes Pro Tools|HD DSP, le mixage et les effets exploitent la puissance de calcul native de l'ordinateur hôte grâce au plug-in RTAS. L’ajout de cartes accélératrices HD en vue d’augmenter la puissance de calcul n’est pas possible.
